SIP Trunking protect the continuity of your business in disastrous events such as flood or fire. For instance, if you need to close your Toronto office in emergency, we can route your calls to your Montreal office immediately with no extra charge.

Disaster recovery and service resilience

By setting up two PBXs at separate sites with its own connection, you will always have service availability. In the event when one site goes down, both your inbound and outbound calls can be automatically rerouted to other site without costly call forwarding charges. You can also distribute your inbound calls to two or multiple locations. You can setup your second PBX off-site at a co-location centre and avoid the full cost of a second PBX. Alternatively you can also use your existing PRI line as a backup.

Absolute resilience

SIP Trunking can be used to guarantee 100% up-time for your phone system. In the unlikely event that all of your SIP Trunking services are unavailable, your inbound calls can be instantly redirected to your preferred destination number.

Case 1: Fail over to SIP Trunks

Before: A company has an Avaya IP Office phone system, single site only, 1 PRI, 50 users, one office. When PRI goes down, calls fail to a single analog line. If more than one call arrives to the office the second caller will get a busy signal. The company loses many customer calls.

Solution: PRI fail over to SIP Trunk: The company orders Digitcom’s SureConnect solution. PRI fails to Digitcom’s SIP trunk. This company orders 10 back-up SIP trunks, and now, they can handle up to ten simultaneous calls into the phone system instead of just one.

Case 2: Fail over to Hosted PBX

Before: A company has an Avaya IP Office phone system, single site only, 1 PRI, 50 users, one office. Phone system goes down. All calls go unanswered.

Solution: PRI fails, Hosted PBX answers: The company orders Digitcom’s SureConnect solution. The PRI fails to the SIP trunk, but since the SIP trunk is provisioned to the same phone system it also will go unanswered. Only now it is possible to send the call to a number of hosted PBX extensions sitting at the company office. If the internet is also down simply take the phone home, plug it in, and start answering calls.

Case 3: Fail over to Auto Attendant

Before: A company has an Avaya IP Office phone system, single site only, 1 PRI, 50 users, one office. Phone system goes down. All calls go unanswered.

Solution: PRI will fail to the SIP trunk, but since the SIP trunk is provisioned to the same phone system it also will go unanswered. Only now it is possible to send the call to an automated attendant that will play a message along the lines of: “Thank you for calling company ABC. We are currently experiencing problems with our phone system. Please press “1” to try our receptionist on a cell phone”.

Case 4: Fail over to second location

Before: A company has an Avaya IP Office phone system at two offices, with 1 PRI, 50 users at office #1, and 30 users at office 2. Phone system goes down. Calls go unanswered.

Solution: PRI will fail to the SIP trunk: Customer orders Digitcom’s SureConnect solution. Since the SIP trunk is provisioned to the same phone system it also will go unanswered. Only now it is possible to send the call to the second (or third) Avaya IP Office phone system’s SIP trunk.
